Flaxseed Egg Replacer

Yields: 1 Serving Difficulty: Easy Prep Time: 20 Mins

Flaxseed or linseed, they’re the same thing just called different things depending on where you live, are high in fiber, protein and good fats. Which also makes them keto friendly!
If you’re like me and seem to always have them on hand they make a great, easy and affordable vegan egg replacement. It’s super easy and quick to make and you won’t taste the difference in your baked goods.
If you only have whole flaxseed just grind some up then measure it out. And if you grind up more than you need by mistake, no problem, just store it in an airtight container or jar ready for your next use!
Happy egg free baking!

  • Mix with the ground flaxseed and water together until it’s starting to get slightly thick.
  • Leave to rest for approx 15mins, longer if you like. It will thicken a bit during this time.
  • Add to your baking when it calls for an egg.

Notes

This recipe will make the equivalent of one egg, so if the recipe you’re making asks for 2 eggs just double the recipe, if the recipe asks for 3 eggs, triple it, and so on.
